Photo of Dead Maurice Clemmons

Maurice Clemmons, age 37, is the Black cop-killer who shot 4 Seattle police officers to death on November 29, 2009. A large manhunt was set up to catch him and two days later, on December 1, a police officer noticed a stolen car by the side of the road. He pulled over and was radioing it in when he noticed a man walking up behind him.

He got out of the car and noticed a Black man with a gun. The cop pulled out his gun and shot the man to death. It was cop-killer Clemmons. A number of Clemmons' relatives had helped him in his days days on the lam and some of them are now being prosecuted. The ex-con who drove him to the coffee shop where he carried out the cop killings is under arrest for homicide.

A photo of a dead Clemmons lying on the ground with bullet holes in his body was somehow leaked to the media. The police are very angry about the leak, and it's not known who did it. The photo is not that easy to find, but I managed to get a hold of one. The photo was leaked on December 3, 12 days ago.

The hard to find photo of Maurice Clemmons, shot dead by Seattle police at 2 AM on December 1.

The story of Maurice Clemmons is long and sad. This article sums it up well. He started his criminal career at age 16 when he punched a lady in the face in a parking lot and robbed her. Then he burglarized a highway patrolman's house. Next he got caught carrying a gun to school.

Arkansas sentenced him to 68 years in prison for all of those crimes. At his hearing, he hid a piece of metal in his sock. At another hearing, he tore a padlock off his cell beforehand and threw it at a deputy. He hit his own mother instead. 68 years in prison is ridiculous for a 16 year old. I could see 9 years max. Governor Mike Huckabee pardoned him after serving 11 years and has come under a lot of fire for it, but he did the right thing.

After Clemmons was released, he kept getting arrested over and over. Further, it seems that he was committing many other crimes that he never got caught for.

One night in May, he wandered the streets of his area with a large rock and smashed out the windows of nine cars. When the cops came on the call, they went to Clemmons' home. Two of his friends came outside and would not let the cops come in. Instead there was a fistfight. Clemmons came out of the house too and all three fought with the cops. The fight ended when one cop pulled out a gun.

Later, in July, Clemmons was charged with the rape of his girlfriend's 12 year old daughter. He managed to make bail because he had accumulated $600,000 in the last few years, apparently almost all through crime.

Since spring, Clemmons seems to have been mentally ill. It's hard to diagnose him, but he's clearly been psychotic. I would guess a manic episode would be the best dx.

He had been given no bail due to charges of flight on a warrant from Arkansas, but his friends in Arkansas intervened to pull the flight charge and allow him to make bail. Three days after his release, he was at a party with his family. He said he was going to kill cops, kill children at a school and kill as many people as he could at an intersection.

Four days later, he walked into a coffee shop and shot Sgt. Mark Renninger and officers Tina Griswold, Ronald Owens and Gregory Richards to death.
