Very disturbing video. A toddler wanders in front of a van in a narrow alleyway in China. The driver apparently does not see the child and runs over it. He realizes what he did and takes off instead of sticking around. A second van then runs over the kid again. This one also figures out what he did and takes over. The frantic mother is freaking out the whole time.

There was some sort of capitalist mercenary motive involved here, but I forget what it was. Something about insurance, but I forget the details. All hail Deng Xiaoping!

Bullfighter Juan Aparicio horribly gored by a bull in Summer 2010. He barely survived the attack and last heard from was in very serious condition in the hospital.

See that thing in his mouth, like he's trying to swallow a thick beef jerky stick all at once? Believe it or not, that's the bull's horn. The bull's horn went into his tongue and straight out of his mouth. Damn, nasty stuff.

This incident got a lot of play in Spain in the summer of 2010. The matador, Julio Aparicio, slipped, and that's where he messed up.

I hate these bullfights, so I should probably root for the bull in this case, but I did feel sorry for the guy. He survived the attack, but he was in extremely bad shape in the hospital right after the attack. He was back in the hospital on June 29, 2010 from an infection following surgery to reconstruct his throat, mouth and palate. His condition was listed as grave but stable. I don't have any further updates on his condition.

This guy's lucky to be alive.

Hideous Diving Board Accident in a Pool

This post is just sad! It takes place at the US Diving Championships competition in Indianapolis. Fifteen year old Greg Ferucci does a triple or quadruple flip on a diving board and hits his head on the board very hard.

She seems to be ok since she was not knocked out by the injury and she is not having convulsions in the water, but blows to the head are never a good idea.

E' la ripresa di oltre 8 minuti del disastro avvenuto il 27/7/2002 all'aeroporto di Sknyliv (Скнилів) vicino a Lviv, in Ucraina, durante una seguitissima manifestazione di propaganda delle forze aeree ucraine. Ovviamente non potevano mancare anche le abituali, pericolosissime esibizioni acrobatiche.

Il bilancio di questa tragedia, a tutt'oggi il peggiore per manifestazioni di questo genere, è di 82 morti e di oltre 100 feriti.

(ndt: vedendo quelle immagini, la tragedia di Ramstein del 1988 mi è tornata alla memoria e devo dire che, purtroppo, tutte le specifiche misure atte a garantire la sicurezza degli spettatori non sono state evidentemente applicate dagli organizzatori Ucraini.)
